Justine and cat "Moon" arrive safely in Canada with the help of ICVS! PDF Print E-mail

If you’re planning on leaving China one day and you have a pet, you should make it your number 1 priority to visit Beijing’s International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS). They have free informational seminars monthly and will provide you with EVERYTHING you need to know to ensure your move overseas or onward is as safe and as smooth as possible.

I have lived in Beijing since 2012, and adopted my cat ‘Moon’ through ICVS back in 2014. Mary Peng, CEO & Founder of ICVS has been there every step of the way. From the very first ‘meet’, to the very last check-up before making the journey home to Canada last month, Mary has been a vital part of our family’s journey. Consistently going above and beyond what would be expected, time after time (including responding to my panicked WeChat messages at ALL hours of the day and checking in with me on ‘leaving day’ to see how everything was going at the airport).

When I decided this would be my last year living in China, I began to make arrangements to bring Moon to Canada. I will be traveling for a year, so I knew it made sense to bring him to Canada first to live with my family. Leaving him in China was out of the question of course, they’re not called “furever homes” for nothing!

I have to admit, I was very overwhelmed with the leaving process and completely stressed out with it all. I had heard through the grapevine that hiring an agent to do everything for you was really the ONLY way to go... but it was really expensive and I was determined to figure something else out. After a few desperate calls to ICVS, I began to feel calmer and more and more at ease with everything. They broke it down for me, step-by-step, and slowly I began to feel very confident that I could do it all on my own, without an agent, and so began the process.

I would have never had the confidence with my limited Mandarin to do it on my own without the team at ICVS holding my hand every step of the way. Having helped send thousands of animals overseas with their families for 11 years now, it’s no secret that they’re experts in the field.

I can’t say enough about Mary and her team. There was never a question left unanswered, and I felt so at ease with the entire process in the end.

We will never forget you Mary! Thank you ICVS.
