Class 1:

 

  1. The dog in your household- basic considerations
  2. Canine behavior and psychology
  3. Correct handling of collar and leash
  4. Obedience training principles and techniques
    1. Benefits
    2. Application and Techniques:
  5. How to give obedience commands?
    1. Tone and Manner
  6. “Come" command
    1. Training and practices
    2. Verbal and Body Signal command
  7. "Sit" command
    1. Training and Practices
    2. Verbal and Body Signal command
  8. Toilet training

 

 

Class 2:

 

  1. Q&A
  2. Review practices of  "Come" and “Sit” command
  3. "Down" command
  4. Walking on a leash
  5. Anxiety
    1. Symptoms of separation anxiety
    2. How to avoid separation anxiety?
    3. How to deal with separation anxiety?
    4. Other forms of anxiety

 

 

Classes 3 and 4:

 

  1. Q&A
  2. Review practices of all learned commands
  3. "Stay" command
  4. Deal with Specific issues/problem behaviors of the owners who participate in the training class (this will not be addressed in the first session because owners need to acquire training skill sets beforehand in order to address the problem behaviors)

 

 

Class 5:

 

  1. Q&A
  2. Review and Practice
  3. "Recall"
  4. Advanced walking on the leash (left and right turn, halt at the stand/sit/down command)
  5. Aggression
    1. How to avoid/deal with “food aggression”?
    2. How to avoid /deal with “toy aggression”?
  6. Practices and demonstrations (owners will need to bring along the dog’s favorite toys and foods/snacks)
  7. Aggression towards other dogs and people
    1. Dog fights

 

Class 6:

 

  1. Q&A
  2. Review and Practice of all learned commands
  3. Specific inquiry and questions regarding your dogs

 

 

This is a condensed course structure that covers basically most of the training knowledge and skills that a dog owner requires to help the dogs to settle in and become a wonderful companion dog for the family (should owners practice these skills well).

 

The course can be extended in order to refine dog-owner relationships and address further problems or issues.
